BRIEFING

It’s all change…with the exception of the mugshot! Welcome to the first digital edition of CorpComms Magazine, and also welcome to the last digital edition in this format. What’s that you say? It was nice while it lasted.

I am shaking up things. Creating this issue has taken a long time, much longer than it should have, for a variety of reasons but mainly because I focused on the wrong thing. I focused on case studies, and tried to curate a diverse range to ensure there was something for everyone. The problem: it took too long.

Several of these articles were written months ago, and while the lessons learned are still valuable, they probably are a tad dated. The solution: to theme the magazine. Every quarter, CorpComms will produce a publication that concentrates on a specific issue, which is supplemented with case studies and interviews.

The summer issue, for example, will focus on ‘Elevating the S in ESG’, a subject that I know from various conversations is of huge interest, while the autumn issue will focus on ‘The role of corporate affairs’, dovetailing nicely with a proposed summit on the same subject in September. (I’m also open to ideas from the floor on themes you’re keen to see explored.)

As for the case studies, they will continue and appear online on a weekly basis – ensuring that they are both relevant and timely. Subscribers will receive a fortnightly newsletter, reminding them that these articles have appeared, and that there are also audio recordings, for those who prefer to listen rather than read.

I am hoping that using the magazine’s digital platform in this way will allow CorpComms to produce the most current content regularly, while still creating thought-provoking insights that serve to help in-house comms professionals in their roles.

Fingers crossed.
